Démarche artistique
À partir d’une approche multi-référentielle, mon travail aborde les correspondances entre le microcosme et le macrocosme. S’appuyant sur les similitudes morphologiques empruntées à différents champs tel que: l’organique, la topographie, la cartographie, la botanique, la géologie; mon travail révèle les concordances visuelles des ces univers distincts. En associant l’espace paysage à l’espace intime, j’aspire à l’imprégnation d’une transversalité des éléments picturales et de leurs sens.
Biographie
Originaire des Cantons de L’Est, Marie Elaine Lalonde habite et travaille à Montréal (Qc, Canada). Elle est titulaire d’un baccalauréat en Arts Visuels et Médiatiques de l’UQAM (2006). En 2009, elle remporte le concours -Projet Insertion- du centre d’artistes; L’Atelier Graff. Elle est également récipiendaire de plusieurs distinctions dont le prix de la relève lors de la 15e édition du EICV (2006), le prix d’excellence du Musée des beaux-arts de Mont-Saint-Hilaire (2010) et le Grand Prix en Arts d’impression lors de la 50e édition du TOAE (2011).
Elle a participé à diverses expositions collectives et Foires d’Art Internationales notamment au S.P.A.C.E.2013 du Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke (Sherbrooke, Qc 2013), au TIAF (Toronto, 2011-12), aux expositions de groupe -Cultural Contact- (Alatri et Rome, Italie, 2012), au London Art Fair (Londres UK, 2012), à l’AAFNYC (Manhattan, NY, E-U, 2010-11) ainsi qu’au India Art Fair (New-Delhi, Inde, 2011). En 2012, elle présentait –biome- une exposition solo à Arts Sutton. Marie Elaine Lalonde est représentée en permanence par la Galerie Artêria (Bromont, Qc.) et Canvas Gallery (Toronto, On.).

Artist statement
My work addresses the correspondences between microcosms and macrocosms with a multi-referential approach. Based on morphological similarities drawn from different fields – organic, topographic, cartographic, botanic, geologic – my practice reveals the visual concordances among these separate worlds. By associating landscape space with personal space, I intend to imbue pictorial elements and their meaning with transversality.
Biography
Born in the Eastern Township, Marie Elaine Lalonde lives and works in Montreal (Qc, Canada). She received a Bachelor degree in visual and media arts from the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) in 2006. In 2009, she won the contest -Projet Insertion- from the artist center: Atelier Graff. She has also received many honors including: the Emerging Award at the 15th edition of the EICV (2006), the Excellence Award at the Mont-Saint-Hilaire Museum of Fine Arts (2010) and The Best of Printmaking Award at the 50th edition of the TOAE (2011).
She has participated in various group exhibitions and International Art Fairs including the S.P.A.C.E.2013 at the Sherbrooke Museum of Fine Arts, (Sherbrooke, Qc. 2013), the TIAF (Toronto, 2011-12), the Cultural Contact (group exhibitions in Alatri and Rome, Italy, 2012), the London Art Fair (London UK, 2012), the AAFNYC (Manhattan, NY, USA, 2010-11) and the India Art Fair (New Delhi, India, 2011). In 2012, she presented Biome a solo exhibition at the Arts Sutton Gallery. Marie Elaine Lalonde is permanently represented by Artêria Art Gallery (Bromont, Qc.) and Canvas Gallery (Toronto, Qc.)
